Myanmar agrees to allow 'all aid workers'

緬甸軍政府接受外援
Myanmar has agreed to allow all aid workers to approach the disasters area. Than Shwe previously refused to accept foreign aid workers to stage for a full- scale effrot after Cyclone Nargis hit three weeks ago causing 133,000 dead or missing.

中國人身分認同急升

中文大學亞太研究所調查指出,四川大地震除激起港人踴躍捐款賑災,亦令市民對「中國人」的身分認同急升. 調查發現,有八成半受訪者對中央政府處理救災的做法表示滿意,近九成人滿意解放軍的救災表現.

地震增至逾5.5萬人死亡 溫家寶綿陽探傷者學生 

 The official dead toll had reached 55,239 with 24,949 missing and 280,000 injured. Premier Wen Jiabao launched his second tour in Mianyang focusing on relief work and has shifted from rescuing lives to rehabilitating quake victims and local community.

UN head urged to aid

聯合國秘書長抵緬甸游說軍政府接受外援

Myanmar’s government have blocked foreign aid agencies help.  The death toll from Cyclone Nargis currently has reached 78,000 dead, with another 56,000 missing. UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has arrived Myanmar and urged to establish a more systematic and organised cooperation.

更多醫療人員趕到四川災區

Psychologists and psychiatrists from Hong Kong's Hospital Authority arrived quake zone and met medical staff of West China Hospital where enormous injured are being treated. Professor of human resources management at Baptist University and grief will soon fly to Sichuan to offer training. More relief workers and health specialists will be sending to Sichuan.

77 survivors dug out in Sichuan

77名生還者挖出

 At least 77 people were successfully dug out of debris in the last 36 hours. The total number of survivors in Sichuan’s earthquake reached to 6452. There were 59,394 injured people still in hospitals. Premier Wen Jiabao promised to arrange for reconstruction funds to help support quake victims.
