緬甸5.6級地震

緬甸清晨發生5.6級地震，據地震局稱，地震的深度為82公里 ，震央位於緬甸密鐵拉之西南偏西約100公里。暫時未收到傷亡及損毀的消息。

香港天文臺亦錄得今次地震。

愛與和平地球家 

在2002年，靈鷲山在美國紐約成立國際非營利組織「愛與和平地球家（Global Family for Love and Peace）後，開始在緬甸進行「佛國種子」計畫，近程計畫包括了從2004年開始的「認養孤兒沙彌獎助學金」：提供小學一到五年級優異孤兒獎助學金；建設「養恩教育院及國際禪修中心（男眾），讓偏遠地區的孤兒及貧童得以到仰光接受教育。中程計畫包括中英文教育資源發展計畫，及建設女眾的養恩教育院及國際禪修中心。遠程計畫則是位於緬甸北部的臘戌的教育園區發展計畫。

Myanmar Cyclone Recovery Appeal Print

Recovery work in Myanmar’s Ayeyarwaddy Delta to repair the catastrophic destruction caused by Cyclone Nargis continues: given the scale of the disaster, recovery is expected to take at least another couple of years: there remains much to be done to rebuild villages – and help people’s lives return to normal.
